President's Message

Carmelia Taylor

Welcome to the Queens Jack & Jill Website. We are extremely proud of the progress our chapter has made throughout the years in nurturing future leaders through philanthropy, volunteerism, and leadership development. In 2020, we are looking forward to our MLK Jr. Service Activities, our annual Ski Trip and our 2nd Annual Jazz and Art Fundraiser. In addition, we'll be helping develop our future leaders by offering a 2020 Emilie Pickens Scholarship to dynamic, college-bound Queens County residents. Stay tuned for more details on our events.

- Greer Hansen-Velazquez

Founded in June 1952, the Queens Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was established under the guidance of Emilie Pickens. Mrs. Pickens was also the first Vice President of the national organization. Our chapter is an organization of mothers whose objective is to impart constructive educational, civic, cultural, recreational and social programming to stimulate growth and development in our African-American children. We strive to nurture future leaders through outstanding chapter programming, community service, legislative advocacy and philanthropic giving.
